Los Angeles

Connections

  •  Barraza was born in an abandoned aircraft carrier outside the girder wastes once called Los Angeles

Context

The aircraft carrier is possibly a reference to Battleship IOWA, which has been repurposed as a museum in Los Angeles. But, this is a battleship, not an aircraft carrier.

It could also refer to the USS Midway Museum, an American aircraft carrier ship also repurposed as a maritime museum in Los Angeles. The USS Midway officially served from 1945 to 1992, making it the second longest-serving aircraft carriers of 20th century America (47 years; behind the USS Enterprise, which served for 51 years). The Midway is currently docked at San Diego, however. Then again, we're talking about the year 2200. Anything could happen.

There could be several other real-world ships that this could refer to. But, we should remember that BMG is based in Georgia, so many of the developers would likely not have intimate knowledge of maritime ships in the Los Angeles area.
