• The masterful shinobi from the Iga and Koga clans were known far and wide; it was behind these clever diversions that the unparalleled Gensoujin family plied their trade; it was here, in the Realm of Twilight, that Jiro trained as a child

Context

Iga and Koga are two different sets of ninjutsu traditions, or schools of thought if you will, originating from the Iga and Koga areas of Japan, respectively. Because these traditions come from different Japanese regions, calling them "clans" or "schools" is at least partially accurate. While I could go into the differences between these two traditions, it's not entirely relevant here because Jiro's lore lumps the two together.
