Geminius Virens

Connections

Context

There is so very little that we know about this artifact. Why did Mordex want it so much? What does it do? Why was the Order of the Exalted Lion keeping it safe?

Reddit and Discord user Piox (or DRG-Piox), along with other Brawlhalla lore fans, have done a bit of research into this mysterious, cursed artifact. If you type "geminius virens" into Google Translate, you get a Latin translation for "close headed." If, however, you capitalize the words and enter "Geminius Virens," the Latin translation becomes "beneath a verdant." This reference to "verdant" led Piox to suggest a connection with the Fangwild/Yggdrasil (since "verdant" refers to rich and lush vegetation). In some depictions of Norse cosmology, Asgard is situated beneath the canopy of Yggdrasil. Could Asgard be the thing "beneath the verdant"? Is the Geminius Virens meant to go to Asgard? Is that where Mordex wants to take/use the artifact? Then again, Helheim would also be "beneath a verdant." This is as far as this theory has gotten. It may or may not have merit, but it's worth mentioning. The fact that "Geminius Virens" seems to be a Latin phrase makes me hesitate to connect it so readily to the Norse cosmology.
