Context
The
Song Dynasty lasted from 960 to 1279 AD. Interestingly, this dynasty saw the first known use of gunpowder, which is what you need to operate canons, which Lin Fei uses! It was also during this time that movable type printing was invented in China, several centuries before Gutenberg's printing press.
