Gold Knight

Context

There is an old manuscript called the "Golden Legend." a collection of biographies about saints and other religious leaders. The legend of Saint George and the Dragon is perhaps one of the most well known stories in that manuscript.

I'm not sure if there ever was an Arthurian legend of a "Gold Knight." It's possible that Sir Roland was simply thinking of a knight in gold armor (or with gold on them) that he was supposed to beat, but never did (like some kind of "one that got away" story).

    I think that may be more of a reference to Orion than to "the Gold Knight."
