Context
This company's name sounds suspiciously like to the Gerber Products Company, which is known for producing baby food, as well as other baby products (at least, that's the first company I thought of), but Gerber clearly has none of the menace and ambition of MBFC.
Also, how did a "baby food corporation" become "Your Friend in Nanotech"??? Is this like one of those super corporations that started small, working in one specific industry until they started branching out and getting more and more successful?

the baby food company was the legal "roof" of a crime syndicate, and their first nanotech products were baby stat tracking/analysis tools that would suggest which formula to go for at current stage and development level, etc.
ReplyDeleteEventually, being merely a legal "roof", it "acquired" lesser cover-up companies of the 22nd century USA. What started as Apple/Gerber joint venture soon consumed both Apple and Gerber, and became MBFC (yes, it was initially Apple baby care kits + Gerber baby food and such)
GovernCorp is Federal Reserve of the US., uncloaked - basically revealing the US itself to be a corporation rather than a true country.
Put it short, Sentinel is a parody of the 2007-2008 "idolized Obama", MBFC is Apple meets Gerber, and thus Apple caused the apocalypse, creating the Apoc2150 timeline that Val, Ada and Barraza share
