- The homeland of Azoth
Context
The closest match I could find was Elyria, Ohio, USA., which is a combination of the city's founder, Herman Ely, and the historical name of Illyria. This Illyria might be a better fit here, being the name given by ancient Greeks and Romans for the western Balkan area. Illyria is also the name of a fictional place in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. If we assume Earth and Thera refer to the same planet, then Elyria can almost certainly be this west Baulkan area in present-day Greece.
In Dunegeon Blitz's story, previous BMG's game, there exists the Kingdom of Ellyria, looks and sounds familiar, right?
ReplyDeleteAlso in that game there was supposed to be a powerful wizard named Nephit who brought monsters to the world by accidentally oppening a portal - who knows, maybe he's the same sorcerer that was Azoth's servant when he was originally alive?
