Context

Alerial certainly sounds like a high elf name, but there is no clear connection to any other character except perhaps this player character in World of Warcraft. High Priestess Alerial could also have narrative or practical similarities to Lady Galadriel from The Lord of the Rings. In regards to the High Priestess status, most searches yield results related to the High Priestess card in the major arcana of a typical tarot deck. In any case, Alerial is clearly in a high position at some major holy church or something in the land to which Lichlord Azoth was summoned.

Judging by Azoth's lore, the heroes called upon by High Priestess Alerial failed to stop the cultists from summoning Lichlord Azoth, but were probably instrumental in getting rid of him in the end.
