Panther People

Connections

  •  On Bax, Mirage led the Panther People to victory over the slave caravans of the ram-headed god Khnum

Context

Not sure what "Panther People" could refer to. Perhaps it refers to people who lived in Africa south of Egypt, where black "panthers" (actually leopards or jaguars with black fur) lived. Ancient Egypt certainly did use slavery to get most, if not all, of their monuments built. Perhaps it's not out of the question for Egyptians to have enslaved people from farther south on the African continent. Perhaps, for some reason, Khnum was in charge of the slave caravans along his Nile River.

No doubt "Panther People" brought the film Black Panther to mind. Well, funny thing about that. The Wakandan deity, Bast, has several similarities to the Egyptian deity Bastet.
