• When Mirage entered the Nile River Valley of 2000 BC, she assumed she (a magic-wielding time traveler) would be the strangest thing in Ancient Egypt, but she was not even close

Context

Mirage's lore page describes Ancient Egypt as "a nexus of magic, aliens, technology, and living myth beyond the wildest speculations of her time," which was 1923. The year 2000 BC is perfect, since it was what is now called the Middle Kingdom of Egypt (aka The Period of Reunification). Amenemhet I ruled from 1991–1962 BC, and did indeed have a pyramid, so the timeline checks out.

The things that Mirage discovered in ancient Egypt coincides with some theories that some people have regarding extraterrestrial visits to the area several millennia ago. In fact, one of those people, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, became the face of a well-known meme:



Mr. Tsoukalos and others subscribe to the "ancient astronaut" theory, which is considered by many to be pseudoscience. In the Brawlhalla universe, however, Mirage discovers that this theory is real.
